SAN FRANCISCO NORTH BEACH
Luke and Josephine wanted their session to feel like a normal North Beach afternoon, the kind they've had a hundred times. We started at one of their go-to cafés over a slow coffee, then walked over to Washington Square Park where they ran around like nobody was watching. From there we wandered. A slice from Golden Boy, the corners they pointed out as we passed, the streets they've made their own. North Beach has been one of the most photographed neighborhoods in San Francisco for a reason: the old Italian cafés, the narrow streets, the light that gets soft and orange in the late afternoon. Their gallery isn't a list of landmarks though. It's an afternoon in their version of the city.
A square slice from Golden Boy Pizza, standing up on the sidewalk. Some of the best photos came from the in-between authentic moments.
Luke and Josephine's session is one of several North Beach couples shoots we've photographed across the neighborhood. If you've been thinking about a North Beach engagement session of your own, or looking for a San Francisco couples photographer who knows the neighborhoods worth slowing down in, we'd love to hear about your day.
North Beach is best photographed without a tight schedule, and we plan every session with that kind of room to wander built in.
