PALACE OF FINE ARTS + CRISSY FIELD
Jon reached out to us to plan a surprise proposal for Charmay during their short trip from Hong Kong to San Francisco, and we felt incredibly honored that he trusted us with such an important moment. With only one day in the city, he wanted everything to feel intentional and true to her. His vision was clear from the start, a cinematic proposal with golden hour light, a beautiful view, and a setting that felt full of soul, texture, and atmosphere.
For their San Francisco proposal photoshoot, we chose a location that reflected exactly that, somewhere with depth, history, and natural framing that could bring his vision to life. As the city moved around them, the moment unfolded in a way that felt both intimate and cinematic, like a quiet scene from a film. We captured the proposal in a documentary style, focusing on the candid emotions, the stillness, and the in between moments where everything seemed to slow down.
From the anticipation leading up to the proposal to the joy right after she said yes, their gallery reflects the kind of storytelling that makes San Francisco proposal photography so meaningful. A moment that felt entirely like them, set against the layered beauty of the city.
The light was already starting to shift when they arrived. Charmay was still showing off the ring, and Jonathan kept looking at her like he couldn't quite believe it.
Crissy Field engagement sessions live and die by timing. We wanted a sunset shoot, when the light gets soft and the wind usually calms down enough to actually hear each other talk.
